Sea Call (1988)

Sea Call for two trumpets and tenor trombone was written in 1988 and given its first performance by SCAW Ensemble at the Pitt Street Uniting Church in Sydney that year. The work may be performed in a conventional venue, such as a concert hall, or in a less conventional large acoustic space where the echo of dramatic passages can resonate and where the contrasting, quietly interleaved parts can take on a sinewy, physical presence. The work evokes the dramatic coastline near Wombarra on the NSW South Coast.
