'Sonata sopra Sancta Maria'

From the Vespro della Beata Vergine (1610) - Claudio Monteverdi (arranged Andrew Schultz)

Monteverdi's 'Sonata sopra Sancta Maria' is a joyous piece for high voice and 8 instrumental parts from the wonderful Vespers of the Blessed Virgin which I have arranged here, hopefully without too much damage to the original, for chamber ensemble and soprano voice. The one line of text is heard 11 times.

Sancta Maria, ora pro nobis [Holy Mary, pray for us.]
